Friday's Presentations
The presentations were really good! Stephanie's presentation really got me thinking about the introduction of online classes and resources in the classroom. This shift to incorporate online tools is changing our education system. More and more teachers, at the high school and collegiate levels, are adding in online components to their class. It is complimenting the curriculum but will it ever replace the classroom? My guess is that it will not, but who knows. I think it will continue to compliment the education system already in place, but there's no way to tell.
Presentations: Online Education
I think I was most intrigued by Stephanie's presentation on online education. I never realized how quickly times are changing. I've always just taken for granted that new and improved techniques for research are coming out. I never really thought about the consequences of this such as encyclopedias being thrown out.
My high school never really used online education but my community college did. When my mom attended the community college one of her classes was online and I always thought that it would be so much easier to do an online class. You didn't need to leave your house, you could use other sources for the quizzes/tests but I didn't think about the downsides. Part of the college eperience is going to class and meeting new people. I think that online sites for classes are useful to check your grades or do homework but when it comes to online classes, I think I would rather attend class.
I think your presentation was very interesting and you asked a lot of questions that got me thinking. Keep up the good work!

Presentation Response
All of the presentations brought up unique kinds of topics involving education. All of them dealt with serious issues about how certain types of education are overlooked or undervalued by mainstream society. However, since they were in the early stages of writing their papers they had only mostly formed ideas and had yet to gather serious data about their topics. So in theory all of their papers have the potential to give the reader a serious insight into each category. Hopefully they received help from the class that will benefit their papers.
